Vielleicht habt Ihr auch schon davon von dieser Schweinerei gehört. Eines der neuesten Opfer ist Vector, ein russischer Hersteller von ausgezeichneten Resin-Motoren:

Attention all to Pratt & Whitney fans and modellers.

Due to the actions of a product licensing company in the USA, we are forced to remove from sale all of the models of Pratt & Whitney engines currently made by Vector.  Please accept our sincere apologies as these were, without doubt, some of the best models of these engines available and now, due to this, you will have to make do with potentially inferior versions from other manufacturers, before they are stopped also.  Any assistance anyone can render to help would be most gratefully received.

Grumman hat bereits zugeschlagen und z.B. erfolgreich verhindert, dass Trumpeter eine A-6 Intruder in 1/32 herausbringt

... vor allem wenn das auf ganze Modelle ausgedehnt werden würde, also beispielsweise Revell eine Lizenzgebühr an EADS zahlen müsste um einen Eurofighter als Modell vertreiben zu können...

Bei Add On´s für Microsoft´s Flightsimulator war das vor Jahren auch mal im kommen, hab das aber nicht weiterverfolgt wie sich das dann entwickelte. Damals verlangten einige Fluggesellschaften solche Lizenzgebühren damit ein Add on Hersteller beispielsweise eine B737 von mit der Bemahlung so einer Fluggesellschaft herausbringen konnte.

Um bei obigem Besipiel zu bleiben: Schlimmstenfalls müssten solche Zurüsthersteller den Motor halt in einzelteilen unter anderem Namen vertreiben, so ähnlich wie bei den "bösen" Sonnnenrädern  
Nur mit den anderen Namen wärs dann schwierig, da würde sich dann ja keiner mehr auskennen...

House Bill 4806, the Toy and Model Replica Act, will come before the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate in weeks to come. This Bill will prevent U.S. Defense Contractors such as Boeing, Northrop-Grumman, Lockheed-Martin, and others from demanding licensing agreements and licensing royalty fees from U.S. manufacturers of scale models and model kits of military vehicles, aircraft, helicopters, and ships. Failure to pass this legislation will increase the cost of model kits that you purchase and reduce funds that are currently directed toward development of new kit subjects, paying salaries, and creating new products. Defense contractors claim that common aircraft, vehicle, and vessel designations and designs are "intellectual property" that entitles them to exact licensing fees. Those of you who are older modelers know from historic fact that the designations were issued by the U.S. Government and that designs like the P-51, B-17, CH-53, P-38, SR-71A, and others would not have been developed without the design, development, and production paid for with taxpayer funds. These subjects that serve as the basis for the development of model kits that serve as historic, educational, and motivational replicas should be exempt from licensing provisions.
